2010 Festival

The 2010 Drama Festival is now completed.

The winners have been announced and the trophies awarded.

With appreciative audiences and an extremely high calibre of performances and with fabulous variety the LDF 2010 was probably the best yet.

Sir Michael and Lady Caine graced us once again with their presence and, together with Hazel Vincent Wallace and her guest Basil Moss, thoroughly enjoyed the winning performances and acknowledged the organisational professionalism which the Festival has come to embody.

Adjudicator, Jill Colby (GoDA) was also enthusiastic about the quality, variety and vitality she experienced over the two week Festival.

Photographs of all performances, including the Awards Night, taken by Andy Newbold and assistant Angharad Wynter, are now available online – for viewing or purchase. Please consider purchasing a little memento, if only to acknowledge the huge effort that goes into processing and uploading the fabulous pictures at the end of each evening. These photographs provide a unique record of the Festival which is still the largest such Festival in the UK! and is now seven years old!.

The pictures are well worth viewing, on: http://www.andynewboldphotography.com

The Organising Committee would like to thank all the Festival participants, their helpers, technicians and crews and, the parents who travel so far to support their talented youngsters - especially we thank them. Thanks too to Dave Saunders, Festival Stage Manager and ASM Sally McCormack who stalwartly kept things moving and strictly to the rules of the competition, unseen but truly appreciated.

We also sincerely thank our sponsors and all those who have helped to organise and support the 2010 Festival.

Please consider attending next year's Festival (May 2011) and also consider supporting in any other way you can. We are always open to ideas on how to improve and how to attract even bigger audiences for both Junior and Senior weeks.

The Leatherhead Drama Festival 2010 supported QEF (Queen Elizabeth Foundation), the Leatherhead & District Scouts and the Leatherhead Theatre.
